MAINTENANCE
REAR BRAKE
Place the vehicle on a level surface.
Remove the rig ht fuel tank side cove r (page 3·61.
Check the fluid lev el in t he rear brake reservoir.
If the leve l is near the
" LOW E A~
leve l line, remov e
t he reservoir mounting bolt, rese rvoir cap , set plate
and diaphragm an d lill the reservoir with Honda
DOT 4 brake fluid from a sealed container 10 the
" UPPER" level line.
Install the diaphragm, set plate. reservoir cap and
mounting boll. and tighten the boll.
Install the rig ht fuel tank side cover (page 3-6),
BRAKE PADS WEAR
NOTE-
• The front and rear brake has audible brake wear
indicator. When the brake pads need repl aci ng,
t he brake w ill screech while app lying the brake .

Remove the front wheel (page 15- ' 1),
r
Check the brake pads for wear.
Replace the front brake pads if the wear lim it i nd ica-
tor mark on t he caliper aligns with the reference
mark on the caliper bracket when the front brake
leve r is applied.
Refer to f ro nt brake pad rep lacement (page 17·10) .
REAR
Check the rear brake pads for wear.
Replace the brake pads if t he wear limit indicato r
mark on the caliper aligns with the reference mark
on the caliper bracket when the rear brake is
applied .
Refer to rear brake pad replacement (pag e 17·' 11.
