Remove the four bolts, intake and exhaust valve
adjustinq hole CClpS.
Rotate the cra nkshaft using the reco il starter knob
and align the
"I"
mark on the flywhee l with the
index ma rk on the rear crank case cover.
M ake sure the p isto n is at TOC {Top Dead
Center!
on
the co mpression stroke.
Th is positio n
can
be obtained by con firm ing that
there is slack in the roc ker arm .
If
the re is no slack, it
is because t he piston is moving through the exha ust
stro ke to TDC. Rotate the crankshaft one fuJi turn
and m atch up the "T" mark again.

Check the clea rance of each valve by inserting a
clearance. $IKle the
feeler gauge belween the adjusting screw and
valve

Ad just by loosening Ihe lock nu l and turning the
adjusting screw u nt il there is a slig ht d rag on the
fee ler gauge.
Hold the adjusting screw and tighten the lock nut.
TORQUE: 17
Nm
(1.7 kgf -m, 12 IbUt)
After lightening the lock nut. rech eck the valve
clea rance.
