FRONT WHEEL/SUSPENSION /STEERING
Install the shaft holder with th e hose cla mp facing
the right side and tighten the two bolts alternately.
then lighten to th e speci fied torque ,
TORQUE: 32
Nm
13.3 kg'·m. 24 Ibl-ttl
In51<111 the br ake hose to the ho se clamp.
Apply molybdenum d isulfide gr ease to the steering
sha ft splines.
Insta ll th e shaft arm over th e ste eri ng shalt by align-
ing the w ide toot h w ith th e wide groove.
Insta ll th e washer and end nut, and lighten it.
TORQUE: 108 N-m (11.0 kgf.m. 80 lbf.ft)
Insta ll a new cott er pin.
Install the t ie-rods into th e steermq shalt arm .
Install new jo int nu ts and tighten th em by holding
the ball jo int stud flats with an o pen end w rench .
TORQUE: 54
Nrn
15.5 kgf -m . 40 Ibf -ftl
Insta ll new cott er pins .
rnstan the handlebar essem biv onto the steering
shaft with the w ashers and new low er holder outs.
Tighten the nuts.
TORQU E: 39 N ·m 1 4 .0 kg f ·m , 29 lbf -ttl
