Remove th e sna p ring and washer, and the seal co l -
lar .
Coal a new O-ring with engine oil and install it into
the groove in a new co ll ar.

Install the coll ar until it is seated . Install the washer

and th e snap ring into the cove r groove properly.

Blow th ro ug h the oil passage in the cran kcase cover
wit h compressed air .
Clean the crankcase and cov er mati ng surfaces.
Install the foll owing if th ey we re removed:
- sealing bol ts w ith new wa shers
- oil pipe joint with a new a ·ring
- dip sti ck
- oil filter (page 4· 121

Apply eng ine oil to th e li ps of a new oit seal, and
install it into t he crankcase cove r u nti l it is fully
seated.
