DRIVETRAIN SYSTEM
Install the w ave spring into the piston groove.
Coa t the clu tch discs with d ea n engine o il.
Install the t hree clutch plates and discs alte rnate ly .
starti ng w ith the plate .
Inst all the end pla te with the stepped side faci ng
out.
Inst all th e stopper ring into the d ru m g rooves prop-
erly.
Perf or m the in itial clea rance inspection (paye 14·
70).
CLUTCH INITIALCLEARANCE CHECK

M easur e th e cl earance between t he end plate and
lop disc.
Set a dia l in dica tor on the end p late with Ihe plate is
lowered .
lift
the end plate u p agai nst the sto pper ring and
read the cle arance, and reco rd it.
Perf orm this inspection at t he three poi nts from
120
Q
apart.
STANDARD: 0.7 - 0.9 m m (0.03 - 0.04 inl
If m e clearance is no t within the standa rd value,
replace t he end plate with
a
new one as fo llows.
Rem ove t he stopper ring and end plate.
Measur e t he flange t hick ness ot t he end plate at
several points and recor d it.
Calculate th e new plate thic kness using th e eq ua-
tion below. Cho ose" new plate as close to this
dimension
as
possible.
