ELECTRIC STARTER
STARTER MOTOR
REMOVAL
Remove the follow ing :
- rig ht side cover (page 3-5)
- righ t center m ud gua rd (pag e 3-7)
Disco nnect the negative (-I ca ble from the battery
(page 20 -6).
Remove the three bolts and the right eng ine sid e
cove r.
Slide Ihe rub ber cap off the starte r motor cable ter-
r::::::~~~~
minal and remove the terminal nut and starte r
motor cable .
Rem ove the two m ou nting bol ts and ho se guide.
Rem ove t he bolt and ground cable from the eng ine .
Pull ou t the stener motor.
DISASSEMBLYI IN SPECTION
Remove t he O-ri ng from the st arte r motor.
