Align Ihe bo lt ho les and install th e case cover.
Insta ll Ih e cover bo lt s and l ighten th em in seve ral
steps until the cover evenly to uc hes the gear case.
Then, while rotat ing Ihe pinion gear, ti gh ten the
bol ts to the speci fied to rq ue in a criss cross patt ern
in several steps.
TORQUE:
10 mm bolt : 49 Nm (5.0 kgf.m . 36 IbUt)
8 mm bol t : 25 N ·m (2.6 kgf ·m. 19lbf·h l
10 mm BOLTS
COVER
NORMAL:
Remove the o il till er cap .
Rotat e the ring gear seve ral t im es in bo th directions
of rotation .
Check t he gear t ooth con tact pattern through the oil
filler ho le.
The pa tte rn is indicated
by
the
Prussian
Blue
applied to the pin ion.
Contact is norm al if th e Prussian Blue is transferred
ls
10 the ap proxi mate cent er of each tooth, but slightly
10 the
heel side and to the flank sid e.
If the pattern are not co rrect, remove and change
the pin ion shim with one of an alternate thicknes s.
