FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)
DTC 7-2 (ECT SENSOR HIGH
VOLTAGE)
• Before starting the inspection, check for loose or
poor contact on the
Eel
sensor 2P lBlackl con-
nector and recheck the Ole.
1. ECT Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch "0".
Check the Eel sensor with the HDS pocket
tester.

NO _. Intermittent failure.
• Loose or poor contact on the
Eel
sensor 2P (Black) connector.
YES - GOTO STEP 2.
2. EeT
Sensor Inspection
Remove the fuel tank left side cover (page 3-6).
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the Eel sensor 2P (Black) connector.
Jump the
Eel
sensor terminals with a jumper
wire.
Connection: White - Green/red
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch "0".
Check the Eel sensor with the HDS pocket
tester.
Is about 0 V indicated7
YES - Faulty ECT sensor.
NO - GO TO STEP3.
3. ECT Sensor Open Circuit Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the jumper wire.
Disconnect the

Check for continuity between the PCM 33P
(Gray) connector terminals and ECT sensor 2P
(Bla~k)
connector terminals of the wire harness
side.
TOOL:
Test probe
Connection: B27 - White
82- Green/red
Is there continuity?
YES - Replace the PCM with a new one, and
recheck.
NO _. Open circuit in White wire.
• Open circuit in Greenlred wire.
