MAINTENANCE
FUEL LINE
Remove the following :.
- seat (page 3-4)
- fuel tank side covers (page 36)
Remove the trim clip and th rottle body cover .
Check the fuel lines for deterioration, damage
Of
reekace.
And also check (he fuel hose (fue l tan k to rueI pump)
and f uel vapor return hose.
Replace the fuel hoses
if
necessary.
THROTTLE OPERATION

Check for any deterioration or damage to the throt -
tle cable. Check that the throttle leve r for smooth
operation.
Check the throttle opens and automatically closes
In
all steering positions.
If the t hr ottle lever does not return properly, lubri-
cate the throttle cable and overhaul and lubrica te
the throttle housing (page 15-10).
If the t hrottle lever still does no r retu rn properly ,
replace the thronle cable .
With the engine idling, turn the handleba r all Ihe
way to the right and left 10 ensure thai the idle
speed does no t change. If id le speed increases,
check t he throttle lever free play and the throttle
cable connection.
M easur e the thro ttle lever free plav at the tip of the
throttle lever .
THROTTLE LEVER FREE PLAY:
3 - 8 mm 11/8 - 5/ 16 mm l
Throttle lever free play can be adjusted
