FUEL SYSTEM (PGM -FII
2. IAT Se nso r Inspecti on
Turn the ig nition switch OFF.
Disconnect th e rAT sensor 2P (Black)
connecto r.
Turn t he ig nition switch ON and engine stop
swi tc h ~O" .
Check t he rAT sensor with th e HDS pocket tester.
Is about 0 V indicated'
YES - GO TO STEP 3.
NO - Faulty IAT sensor
3. IAT Sensor Output li ne Short Circuit Inspecti on
Disconn ect th e peM 33P (Gray) con necto r fr om
the peM Ipage 6-43).
Check fo r co nti nui ty between th e rAT senso r 2P
(Black) connecto r termi nal of th e wire harness
side and gr o und .
Connection: Gray/blue - ground
Is there continuit y?
YES - Sho rt circuit in Gray/blue w ire
NO - Repl ace th e

o ne, and recheck

Disconnect the IAT senso r 2P (Black) con nector .
J um p th e tA T senso r term inals w ith a ju mper
wi re.
Con nect ion : Gr ay/blu e - Green /red
Turn th e ignition switc h ON and angine stop
swi tch "0".
Check the 'AT sensor with the HDS pocket tester.
