If the leve l is low, remove the steer ing cover (page
3-5).
Remov e the reserve tank cap, and fill the tank up to
the "UPPER" level line w ith a 1:1 mixture of distilled
water and antifreeze (coo lant preparat io n : page 7-6).
RECOMMENDED ANTIFREEZE:
Pro Hon da HP coo lant or an equivalent high qual-
ity ethylene glycol a ntifreeze co ntai ning s ilicate-
free co rrosion inhib itors
NOTICE
Using cootsnt with siticete corrosion inhibitors m ay
cause premature wear of water pump seals or
blockage of radia tor passages. Using tap WOller may
cause engine damage.
Check to see if th ere ere any coo lant leaks w hen t he
coo lant level dec reases very rapid ly.
If the reserve tank becomes co m pletely em ply, the re
is a possibility of air getting i nto the co oling system.
Be sure
to
remove any air f rom th e cooling system
(pag e 7-7).

Check for any coolant leakage from the water pump,
wa ter hoses (radiato r and by -pass hoses) and hose
joints.
Check the water hoses for cracks or dete rioration
and repl ace if necessary.
Check Ihat atl hose damps are tight.
