BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE
NOTE :
• When the fluid level is low, check the brake pads
for wear Ipaqe 4-18).
• A low fluid level may be due to worn brake shoes
or pads. If the brake pads are worn, the caliper
piston is pus hed out, and this causes a low reser -
voir level. If Ihe brake pads are nOI worn and the
fl uid level is low, check ent ire system for leaks
(page
4-19).
FRONT BRAKE
Tur n the hand lebar to the left side so the reservoir is -
level and check the fluid level through the sight
glass .

the reservoir wi th Ho nda DOT 4 b rake f luid from a
scale d container to thc cast ing ledge.
Install the diaphragm, set plate and reservo ir cap,
and tighten the cap screws.
