11. Roll the printer off the base of the shipping package.
12. Open the top cover of printer and remove the sheet of packing
material covering the control panel.
13. Next, remove the foam packing block from between the paper
guides by cutting the plastic tie.
14. This completes the instructions for removing the printer from its
packing materials. Chapter 2. Getting Started in the 5180 User's
Manual includes instructions for removing the shipping blocks
and hardware.
Unpacking the printer consists of removing the outside covering
packing material, packaged contents of the paper storage area, and
removing the shipping hardware.
Use the following instructions to remove the printer from its packing
materials:
1. Cut and remove the two shipping straps from the shipping pack,
as shown in Figure A-5, and slide the shipping pack off of the
wooden skid.
2. Cut the tape holding the flaps closed on top of the shipping sleeve
and open flaps. See Figure A-5.
3. Cut all four corners of the base tray so that the tray lays flat. See
Figure A-6.
4. Slit the packing sleeve from top to bottom along one corner.
Remove and discard sleeve. See Figure A-6.
