This menu is used to select a printer emulation. This printer can
emulate (become functionally similar to) ANSI (4800), ANSI (4410),
FX286e, IBM Proprinter, P300/600, DEC LG (Digital Branded models
only), PSeries, and DEC PPL3.
Which emulation to use will depend on what control codes and
escape sequences will be sent by the host. (See Programmer's Manual,
for information on each emulation.)
1. While in Set Up menu, press the ◄ (left) or ► (right) menu browse
keys until Select Emul is displayed in the lower right corner of the
LCD.
2. Press the ▼ (down) menu browse key to access the Select Emul
options.
3. Press the ◄ (left) or ► (right) menu browse keys until the
emulation desired is displayed in the lower right corner of the
LCD.
4. Press the Select key to select an emulation option. The
will now immediately follow the saved emulation option.
If there is an IBM CX/TX (Coax/Twinax) interface board installed
in expansion slot 1 or expanstion slot 2, the software in the
printer will be either an SCS load which defaults to the SCS filter
enabled or an IPDS load, which defaults to the IPDS filter
enabled. The Emulation will be ANSI (4800) and the operator is
unable to select another Emulation because SCS and IPDS filters
must have the ANSI (4800) selected.
If the printer is not using the Coax or Twinax interface and an
Emulation other than ANSI (4800) is desired (i.e. parallel):
Determine which expansion slot contains the installed CX/TX
board.
If the printer is an IPDS printer, in the Expansion(n) menu,
where (n) is the number of the expansion slot, disable(unselect)
the IPDS option. If the printer is an SCS printer, in the
Expansion(n) menu, where (n) is the number of the expansion
slot, disable(unselect) the SCS option. See

this step.
