Use the following procedure to continue the upgrade flash procedure:
5. Bring up a DOS window on your PC. Change to the directory
where the upgrade file was stored. At the DOS command line in
the PC type the following command:
copy/b <filename.lod> LPT1:
<filename> is the name of the upgrade. .lod is the extension.
Instructions for performing upgrade software procedures are also
available via the Internet at

6. Press the Return (also known as Enter) key on the PC. Monitor
the LCD display for error messages.
7. When upgrade is complete, the printer will automatically re-
initialize and return to an online status. If the printer does not re-
initialize, disconnect the cable from the host and recycle the
printer power.
To make a copy of the onboard software to an external flash perform
the following:
1. Power off the printer.
2. Install a 2 Mbyte Flash SIMM.
3. Power on the printer while simultaneously pressing the Select
and Clear keys.
To copy software from Flash SIMM back to onboard memory perform
the following:
1. Power off the printer.
2. CCU board jumper J1 should be in the 1-2 position which sets
the printer to operate using the Flash SIMM software.
3. Power on the printer while simultaneously pressing the Select
and Clear keys.
If the printer is running IBM software, the IBM software is
located on the external Flash SIMM. Do not perform a copy from
the external Flash SIMM to onboard memory due to software
limitations.
