When this option is enabled, monitoring the ribbon life and resetting
the ribbon counter using the Operator menu. See New Ribbon on
page 41 (Chapter 4. Using the Operator Menu) for additional
information.
1. While in the Maintenance menu, press the ◄ (left) or ► (right)
menu browse key until RibbonMonitor is displayed in the lower
right corner of the LCD.
2. Press the Select key or the ▼ (down) menu browse key to access
the RibbonMonitor options.
3. Press the ◄ (left) or ► (right) menu browse key until the desired
option is displayed in the lower right corner of the LCD.
4. Press the Select key to enable an option. The < symbol will
immediately follow an enabled option. EOL Limit and EOL Warning
are user set options.
Press the Select key while EOL Limit or EOL Warning is displayed in
the lower right corner of the LCD. Notice the cursor (underline) is
now shown under the first digit. The horizontal ◄ ► (left or right)
menu browse keys to position the cursor (underline) under the
digit to be changed; the vertical ▲ ▼ (up or down) menu browse
key increment/decrement the selected digit by one.
Press the Clear key after all changes are complete and the desired
value is displayed in the lower right corner of the LCD. When the
printer is online, the LCD window will display the EOL value
remaining for monitoring purposes.
Repeat this section if further changes are necessary. The valid
range of values for EOL Limit is between 30 and 120. The valid
range of values for EOL Warning is between 0 and 29.
The EOL Limit allows setting the End of Life Limit value for the
Ribbon. Although setting a limit other than the EOL
recommended for a ribbon is allowed, the current EOL types
available are 50M and 75 M.
The EOL Warning allows setting the End Of Life Warning value
for the ribbon. This warning does not cause a fault. It is a
monitoring function only.
