This menu is used to place the printer in a mode where it receives
data which is a software upgrade. There are two options available,
Onboard Flash and SIMM Flash. The Onboard Flash option is used to
upgrade the onboard printer code, which resides on the printer's
LPCU (Line Printer Control Unit) board. Selecting the SIMM Flash
option will upgrade the printer code residing on the external SIMM
Flash. See Appendix F on page 176 for complete upgrade installation
instructions.
Make sure the printer is connected to the host before
proceeding.
1. While in the Maintenance menu, press the ◄ (left) or ► (right)
menu browse key until Upgrade Flash is displayed in the lower
right corner of the LCD.
2. Press the ◄ (left) or ► (right) menu browse key until the desired
upgrade option is displayed in the lower right corner of the LCD.
3. Press the Select key to upgrade the printer. Ready will be
displayed in the lower left corner of the LCD. (See Appendix F for
the Software Upgrade procedures and additional information.) To
exit this function without upgrading the software, cycle the power
to the printer.
