Under normal (non-fault) conditions, the printer uses both the upper
Tier 1 and the lower Tier 2 for printing. This menu option allows the
user to disable a specific Tier.
If the printer detects a bad tier, the LCD will read Bad Actuator.
Press the Clear key to clear the fault. The printer will
electronically turn off the tier where the bad actuator is located.
If the bad actuator is located in an area which will not affect the
quality of the print job, the user can use TierSelect to force the
printer to use both tiers. Using only one tier to print will reduce
the print speed.
Use the following procedures to enable/disable an option:
1. While in the Engine Options menu, press the ◄ (left) or ► (right)
menu key until Tier Select is displayed in the lower right corner of
the LCD.
2. Press the ▼ (down) menu browse key to access the Tier Select
options.
3. Press the ◄ (left) or ► (right) menu browse key until the desired
option is displayed. Press the Select key to enable/disable an
option. The < symbol will immediately follow an enabled option.
