This sub-menu is used to configure a parity setting for the serial
interface. Parity is a serial interface parameter used for error
detection.

1. While in the Serial Setup menu, press the ◄ (left) or ► (right)
menu browse key until Parity is displayed in the lower right
corner of the display menu.
2. Press the ▼ (down) menu browse key. Parity will be displayed in
the upper left corner of the LCD.
3. Press the ◄ (left) or ► (right) menu browse key until the desired
selection is displayed in the lower right corner of the LCD. Press
the Select key to enable or disable an option. The < symbol will
now immediately follow the enabled option.
Meaning if Enabled
The serial character does not have this bit and
parity checking is disabled.
The character does contain the parity bit, but it is
ignored by the printer with no error detection being
made. The bit may be a logical one or zero.
The parity bit set by the host is such that there is
an even number of logical "ones" in the character.
The printer checks for an even number of "ones"
and flags a parity error if there is an odd number of
"ones" (including the parity bit).
The parity bit is set by the host such that there is
an odd number of logical "ones" in the character.

flags a parity error if there is an even number of
