1.1 The MP2500 system

The MP2500 is a complete, ready to use system, consisting of:
The MP2500 with its standard software
A set of alkaline batteries, or a rechargeable battery stick (optional)
A backstrap
The MP2500 User Leaflet, for end users
AC adaptor (optional)

1.2 Features

Measuring just 242 x 132 x 44 mm (9.5ins x 5.2ins x 1.7ins) maximum and
weighing 680 g (24 oz) with alkaline batteries or 700 g (25 oz) with
rechargeable batteries, the MP2500 is a completely self-contained powerful
computer, small enough to hold in one hand and carry all day.
For typical applications, the MP2500 can operate all day from internal
batteries and is sealed against moisture, dust and other hazards, so you
can take it with you and use it almost anywhere.
It includes MS-DOS on a non-volatile CompactFlash drive, and (for a low
power consumption hand-held computer) the hardware architecture is very
PC-compatible. This means that MP2500 can run a wide range of software.
You can also program the MP2500 using your usual PC-compatible
assembler or compiler. Assembly language access allows full use of its
many specialised features.
Data and programs can be exchanged easily with other PC compatible
computers by using the built-in communications utility (HCOM).
