14.6 Using the H
XL is a file transfer utility which allows you to download a program file from
a host using the XMODEM protocol and then optionally execute it on the
MP2500. This will typically be used to update the user's application
automatically.
XL is stored on the MP2500 CompactFlash disk. To use it you will also
need a third party program on the host which uses the XMODEM protocol.

14.6.1 Using XL

Connect via the MP2500 serial communications port (Port 1, COM2):
Turn on the MP2500.
At the DOS prompt, type the XL command:
XL [filename] [/Rmm] [/Pnn] [/ne] E
Where:
filename specifies the name to use for the received program. If omitted,
COMMS.EXE is assumed.
/Rmm sets the delay between reporting an XMODEM error and restarting
the download to mm seconds (0..60). If omitted, 10 seconds is assumed.
/Pnn sets the time between initial startup polls to nn seconds (0..60). If
omitted, 10 seconds is assumed.
/ne specifies NOT to execute the downloaded file
If you have specified an invalid filename, INVALID FILENAME will be
displayed. Press C to return to DOS and retype the command.
If you have specified a filename which exists already, it will be
overwritten without warning.
