ECHO
Use
To control whether characters will be displayed on the screen as they are
transmitted.
Notes
Data transmission and reception are not affected by echoing and the
displayed characters are not passed to user programs or entered in the
receive buffer.
ECHO is usually used to mimic full duplex operation with a half duplex
remote system. If the remote system is operating in full duplex mode,
selecting ECHO will display each character twice!
