System functional architecture
To maintain optimum service during carrier failure and recovery, the
system automatically enables the exact number of timeslots required for
the number of active physical links between the system and the Carrier
Remote IPE. All the other timeslots provided by the superloop are inhibited
to prevent system assignment of too many timeslots for the number of
active carriers in the link.
If the number of active links changes due to failure of one or more links, or
if reactivation of a previously faulty link occurs, the system dynamically
adjusts the number of available timeslots to support currently active
carriers in the link.
