Chapter B - GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE

2.8 Tube type

Touch the Reset field on the Tube type display to start the tube filament definition.
CAUTION
Always program the tube type into the system when the generator processor board or
the tube head is replaced. Even if the new tube type is the same than the previous one,
the filament characteristics are not exactly the same and must be reprogrammed. Fail-
ing to do this may damage the tube head.
Pressing down the exposure key after the tube type selection starts the generator with 70 kV
and 2 mA (the system adjusts for these values automatically). The system regulates the fila-
ment voltage to get the 2 mA tube current accurate, changes to 3 mA and so on till all tube
current values up to 12 mA have been adjusted. After the learning procedure the generator
stops and the tube type display stops blinking to indicate that the system is now ready for nor-
mal operation. If the exposure switch is released before the procedure is complete (about 2
minutes), it will be continued from that point on when the switch is operated again. If the
power was switched off the procedure starts from beginning. When the tube filament defini-
tion is done the display will indicate "5" for Toshiba tube.
