PANORAMIC X-RAY BEAM ADJUSTMENT
Chapter D - ADJUSTMENT & CALIBRATION
The beam image should appear within the borders of the rectangle marked on the alignment
tool (if the beam is not correctly aligned see section 2.2 "Primary collimator adjustment, Plan-
meca Proline XC Panoramic X-ray unit" on page D-10).

Planmeca Proline XC Pan/Ceph X-ray unit: After the collimator number 0 has been
checked, and, if necessary, adjusted, select collimator number 1 with the arrow fields.
Stand behind the tube head and protect yourself from radiation. Press and hold down the
exposure button. The image of the radiation beam from collimator number 1 on the alignment
tool.
The radiation beam from collimator number 1 must appear within the borders of the rectangle
marked on the alignment tool and fill the lower 80 - 85% of the rectangle. If the beam is not
aligned correctly refer to the X-ray unit's
When the collimator has been checked, and if necessary adjusted, exit the service settings
mode and take a ball phantom exposure to check the position of the patient positioning mech-
anism, see section 3 "PATIENT POSITIONING MECHANISM" on page D-16.
