PANORAMIC X-RAY BEAM ADJUSTMENT
CAUTION
NOTE
Technical Manual
The display shown below appears. The number above the arrow fields indicates the collima-
tor number and the collimator is changed with the Next field. Select collimator number 0.
Figure 38
Adjust the position of the beam with the arrow fields located below the collimator number. The
left arrow will move the slot mechanism, and beam to the left, and the right arrow will move
the slot mechanism, and beam to the right.
Check the position of the beam again and, if necessary, repeat the above alignment proce-
dure until the beam is within the alignment rectangle on the fluorescent screen.
Radiation is generated when the exposure button is pressed. Take adequate protection
measures. Keep the exposure time as short as possible.
Always use the plus right arrow field for the final adjustment. This makes sure that the
collimator mechanism is correctly positioned by taking up the play between the draw
nut and the positioning thread.
For example, if you are adjusting the beam to the left with the left arrow, you should move the
collimator mechanism a little further to the left than necessary, and then use the right arrow to
move it back to the right to the correct position.
