– Start the cold engine, and run it at idling speed.
Note
After the visual check has been completed, make sure to turn
the inspection cover towards right until the triangle marks are
properly aligned. If the inspection cover is not fitted as speci-
fied, it may become detached during operation.

1.12 Assessing wear on tensioning roller
and belt pulleys
Toothed belt und pulleys
– -1- Worn
– -2- New
– -3- Operation time
– The toothed belt tension must be checked as part of mainte-
nance work/every 600 operating hours. This is also applica-
ble for extended service intervals.
– The toothed belt must not be retensioned.
– The remaining service life must be determined, and if neces-
sary the toothed belt must renewed earlier than specified.
– Each time the toothed belt is renewed, check wear on tooth-
ed belt pulleys.
