Check the side stand ignition cut-off sys ler n :
- Sit 11stride t he m ot orc.y<:le 11nd rnise the side stand.
Stan the engine with the transmission in neutral,
t hen sh ift the t ransmissio n into 9ear, wit h the clutch
lever sq ueezed.
- Lower the side stand fully.
- The eng ine shou ld stop as the sid e stand is low-
ered.
If there is a problem with the syste m. check t he side
stand switch (section 19).

FRONT SUSPENSION INSPECTION
Check the actio n of t he fo rks by operating t he front
hrakes and compressing the front suspe nsion several
times.
Check the entire assem b ly rur signs of leaks, tla rnage
or loose fasteners.
Rep lace damag ed components w hich cannot be
repai red.
Tig ht en all nuts and bolts.
Refer to section 13 for fork se rvice.
FRONT SUSPENSION ADJUSTMENT
SPRING PRE-LOAD ADJUSTER
Spring pre-load can be adjusted by t urning t he
adjuster.
TURN CLOCKWISE:
Increase t he spring pre-load
TURN COUNTERCLOCKWISE:
Decrease the spring pre-load
PRE-LOAD ADJ USTER ADJUSTABLE RANGE:
6 - 21 mm (0.2 - 0.8 in ) from t he top of t lhe fork
