Wheel bearing
Tu rn the i nn er race uf each bearing with your finoer.
Bearings shou ld t urn sm ooth ly and q ui etly. A lso
check th at th e bco ri ng out er race fits tig htly in the
hub.
Remove and discard the bco ri ngs if t he races do not
turn smoothly an d quietly, o r if L iley fil loosely in the
hul.J.
W heel rim runout
Check t he rim runout by plocing the w heel in
a
tru e-
ing sta nd.
Spin the w heel slowly and read the runout using "
rlill l inrlic:llto r.
Actu al runo ut is 1/2 th e total indicator reading.
SERVICE LIMITS:
Radial: 2.0 mm
(0.08
in)
Axial: 2.0 mm (0.08 i n)
Driven sprocket
Check the cu ntlitiun ur L he final d ri ven sprocket teeth.
RP.rlllc.P. the ~rroc.kP.t it wo rn or oam119 P.o.
If the final driven sp rocket req uires replacemen t,
inspect th e drive chain and drive sprocket .
Never install a new drive chain on a worn sprocket
or a worn cha in o n new sprockets. Both chai n an d
sprocket m ust be in good condition or th e replac e-
mP.nt c:hll in o r sprocket wi ll wear rapidly.
Wheel ba lance
See page 13-11 fo r w heel ba lance.
DISASSEMBLY
Rem ove the bolts and b rake disc.
Remove the rig ht dust seal.
GOOD
REPLACE
