FUEL SYSTEM (Programmed Fuel Injection)
FUEL PUMP
INSPECTION
Turn the ignition switch to "ON" and confirm that the
fue l pump operates lor a few seconds.
If the fuel pump cioP.s not opP.rlltP., inspect llS to

lows:
Suppon the front end of fuel tank ipaye 3-4).
Disconnect th e fue l pump

Turn the ignition switch to "ON" and measure t he
vo ltag e between the termi nals.
Connection: Brown
(+} -
Green

There should be banery voltage for
a
few seconds.
If there is battery voltllgP., rP.pl11c:P. the tuel p ump.
If there is no boncry vo ltage. inspect the following:
- Main fuse 30A
- Sub fuse 10A
- Engi ne stop switch (page 19-19}
- Fuel cut-off relay (page 5-54)
- Engi ne slop relay (page 5-84)
- Bllnk

- ECM

REMOVAL

Before discu1111er:ting the fuel hose, release the fuel
pressure
by foosP.ning the
service check bolt at the
fuel tank.
Always replace the sealing washers wlum the ser-
vice check bolt is removed nr lonsP.nP.rf.
Re move the fuel ta nk (paye 5-55).
Remove the fuel pump mounting n uts.
Remove the fuel pump assembly and pack ing.
