STARTER MOTOR
REMOVAL
Support the front end of fuel t ank l_ p;igP. 3-4).
Or;iin the coo lant (page 6-4).
Remove the throttle body (page 5-60).
Remow the lherrnostat housing (page 6-7).
With t he ignition switch turned to • oFF", remove the
negative cable at the bau -,,y befo re servicing the
starter motor.

Remove the start-,, rnotor mounting bolts and ground
cable.
Pull the starte r motor out of the crankcase .
