RP.r.hP.ck the drive chain slack and free whee l rotation.
Lub ricate the drive ch111n with #80 - 90 gear uil or Pro
Honda chain lube designed specifically for u!IP. wit h O·
ring chains. W ip11 urr any excess oil or choin lubri-
cant.
Check the drive chain wear indicator l11hel attached on
the l11fl drive chain adjusting plate.
If thP. !lwingarm index m ark reaches the red zone on
the indicot or label. replace thP. n rive chain with a 1111w
one (pa9e 3-2 1 ).
CLEANING ANO LUBRICATION
Cleon the cha in with non-tl11mmable o r h igh flash
µuint solvent and wipe it dry.
M11ke sure the cha in has dried completely before
lubricating.
Inspect the drive chain for p ossible damage or wear.
neplace the ch ain if it has dama9ed rollers. loose f it-
t ing links, or otherwr!IP. 11ppears unserviceal.,l e.
Installing a new ch:lin o n badly worn sprockets will
ca use the new chain to wear quickly.
Inspect and rP.pl11r.e t he sprockets as necessary.

SPROCKETS INSPECTION
Inspect the drive and driv en sprocket teeth for wear ur
dam age, reµlace if necessary.
Never u!IA a new drive chai n 011 worn sprockets.
Both ch:iin ond sprockets m ust he in good conditi on ,
or tht1 1111w replacement chain will wear rapidly.
