MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) CHECK
Refer to the same item in Section 6-1 or 6-2 for checking proce-
dure.
"O/D OFF" LAMP CHECK
1) Check that O/D off switch button is at OFF position (pushed).
2) Turn ON ignition switch.
3) Check that "O/D OFF" lamp lights for about 2 sec. and then goes
OFF.
If anything faulty is found, advance to "DIAGNOSTIC FLOW
TABLE A-1", "DIAGNOSTIC FLOW TABLE A-2" or "DIAGNOS-
TIC FLOW TABLE A-3".
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHECK
A/T DTC can be checked using any one of the following 3 methods.
A. Reading DTC from ECM using SUZUKI scan tool with mass
storage cartridge.
– For more information on this method, refer to the same item
in Section 6-1 or 6-2.
NOTE:
Method "A" is available only for vehicle with WU-TWC.
B. Reading DTC from TCM by using SUZUKI scan tool with mass
storage cartridge.
1) Set mass storage cartridge to scan tool and connect scan
tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Turn ignition switch ON.
3) Read DTC according to instructions displayed on scan tool
and print it or write it down. Refer to scan tool operator's
manual for further details.
4) After computing the check, turn ignition switch off and dis-
connect scan tool from DLC.
C. Identifying flashing pattern of "O/D OFF" lamp.
– Refer to flow table for "DTC CHECK USING "O/D OFF"
LAMP".
