CODE NO.22 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT
(VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL NOT INPUTTED ALTHOUGH ENGINE
SPEED IS HIGHER THAN ABOUT 3,000 R/MIN. AND THROTTLE
OPENING IS LESS THAN 10 DEG. FOR LONGER THAN 4
SECONDS)
Does speedometer indicate vehicle speed?
YES
1. Remove suspension control module and connect
couplers to suspension control module.
2. Connect voltmeter between B7 terminal of suspen-
sion control module coupler and body ground.
3. Hoist front end of vehicle and lock front right tire.
4. Turn front left tire quickly with ignition switch ON.
Does voltmeter indicator deflect between 0 – 1V and
4 – 6V a few times while tire is turned one revolution?
NO
1. Remove combination meter and connect coupler
to combination meter.
2. Connect voltmeter between ground and vehicle
speed output terminal screw.
3. Turn front left tire quickly with ignition switch ON.
Does voltmeter indicator deflect between 0 – 1V and
4 – 6V a few times while tire is turned one revolution.
YES
Poor speedometer coupler connection or "V" wire
open.

Faulty speedometer, VSS or its wire harness.
Refer to "SPEEDOMETER CONTROL" in Section 8.
Poor B7 connection. If connection is OK, substitute a
known-good suspension control module and re-
check.
