7B-56 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (3 A/T)

SYSTEM INSPECTION

(If equipped with interlock system)
1) Check to make sure that selector lever cannot be moved to any
other range from P range when ignition switch key is at "ACC"
or "LOCK" position or it is removed from keyhole of ignition
switch.
2) Shift selector lever to P range and check for the following.
D Ignition key can be turned between "LOCK" and "ACC" posi-
tions back and forth and also it can be removed from ignition
switch.
D With manual release plate moved in arrow direction and igni-
tion key turned to "ACC" position, selector lever can be
shifted from P range to any other range.
D With manual release plate moved in arrow direction and Igni-
tion key turned to "LOCK" position, selector lever can not be
shifted from P range to any other range.
D When ignition switch is turned "ON" and brake pedal is de-
pressed, selector lever can be shifted from P range to any
other range.
3) Under each of following condition, check that ignition key can-
not be turned between "ACC" and "LOCK" positions in either
direction and it cannot be removed from ignition switch unless
it is at "LOCK" position.
D When selector lever is shifted to any position other than P
range.
D When knob button of selector lever is pushed at P range.
