DETECTION
CONDITION
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Diagnostic procedure
STEP INSPECTION
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION OCCURRED DUE TO ABS
HU/CM INTERNAL MALFUNCTION (PIPE CLOGGING)

Perform the ABS system inspection.
•
Is the system normal?
•
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION OCCURRED IN
CONVENTIONAL BRAKE SYSTEM
Inspect the brake fluid level.
•

Start the engine.
•
Drive the vehicle and inspect the brake operation.
•
Is the result normal?
•
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS DUE TO PARKING BRAKE
DRAGGING
Turn the ignition switch off.
•

Jack up the vehicle and support it with safety stand.
•
Release the parking brake.
•
Does the rear wheel drag when turned by hand?
•
VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

Clear the DTC from the memory.
•
Start the engine and drive the vehicle at 10 km/h {6.2
•
mph} or more .
ABS HU/CM (pump)
Lock-up of right front and left rear wheels, or left front and right rear wheel
•
is detected during ABS operation.
ABS HU/CM internal pump motor frozen
•
ACTION
Yes Go to the next step.
Replace the ABS HU/CM,
No
then go to Step 4.
Yes Go to the next step.
Inspect the conventional brake
lines.
No
Repair the malfunctioning
part, then go to Step 4.
Yes Go to the next step.
Repair the parking brake, then
No
go to the next step.
Repeat the inspection from
Step 1.
Yes
If the malfunction recurs,
replace the ABS HU/CM.
