NO.23 NOISE OCCURS AT IDLE WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED IN D RANGE, OR IN R

Noise occurs at idle when vehicle is stopped in D range, or in R position

Transmission is noisy in driving ranges when vehicle is idling.

Malfunctions unrelated to AT:

Abnormal noise from differential

Abnormal noise from propeller shaft

Vibration caused by unbalanced or uneven tires

Although the malfunction is basically the same as No.22 "NOISE OCCURS AT

IDLE WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED IN ALL POSITIONS/RANGES", other

causes may be selector lever position disparity or TR switch position disparity.

Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic

Transmission On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transmission Basic Inspection

are conducted. (See BASIC INSPECTION .)
