INSPECT CLOCK SPRING GROUND CIRCUIT
FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Inspect for continuity between the clock
•
4
spring (wiring harness-side) terminal 5C and
body ground.
Is there continuity?
•
INSPECT STEERING SHIFT SWITCH
Inspect the steering shift switch.
•

Is the steering shift switch normal?
•
INSPECT CLOCK SPRING
Inspect the clock spring.
•

Is the clock spring normal?
•
INSPECT TCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR
CONNECTION
Disconnect the TCM connector.
•

Inspect for poor connection (such as
•
damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
Are the connector and terminals normal?
•
INSPECT SHIFT CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT
FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Inspect for continuity between the clock
•
8
spring (wiring harness-side) terminal 5F and
TCM (wiring harness-side) terminal 1W.
Is there continuity?
•
INSPECT SHIFT CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT
FOR SHORT TO GROUND
Inspect for continuity between the clock
•
9
spring (wiring harness-side) terminal 5F and
body ground.
Is there continuity?
•
Yes Go to the next step.
Repair or replace the wiring harness, then
No
go to Step 10.
Yes Go to the next step.
Replace the steering shift switch, then go to
Step 10.
No

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Yes Go to the next step.
Replace the clock spring, then go to Step
10.
No
(See CLOCK SPRING
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Yes Go to the next step.
Repair or replace the connector and/or

terminal, then go to Step 10.
Yes Go to the next step.
Repair or replace the wiring harness, then

go to Step 10.
