DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING (Continued)
PINPOINT TEST S: PRE-HEAT FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE (POSTAL RANGER EV ONLY)
S1 CHECK PRE-HEAT FOR CORRECT CONDITIONS
• Key OFF.
• Power Control Station (PCS) in ACTIVE mode.
• Vehicle Plugged in.
• Outside ambient temperature <18°C (64°F)
• Are the conditions acceptable?
S2 CHECK PRE-HEAT SWITCH
• Key OFF.
• Depress pre-heat switch.
• Does the bulb illuminate?
S3 CHECK CIRCUIT X(LG/BK) FOR POWER
• Key OFF.
• Disconnect pre-heat switch C262, and measure the voltage between
circuit X(LG/BK) and ground.
• Is the voltage greater than 0 volts?
S4 CHECK THE PRE-HEAT SWITCH
• Key OFF.
• Depress the button.
• Check circuit X(LG/BK) and circuit W(RD/LG).
• Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
S5 CHECK CIRCUIT W(RD/LG) FOR POWER
• Key OFF.
• Disconnect pre-heat C262 and measure the voltage between circuit
W(RD/LG) and ground.
• Is the voltage greater than 0 volts?
S6 CHECK THE PRE-HEAT INVERTER RELAY
• Disconnect the pre-heat inverter relay C135.
• Carry out the component test on the pre-heat inverter relay. Refer to the
wiring diagrams section for component testing.
• Is the pre-heat relay OK?
S7 CHECK CIRCUIT Y(WH) POWER
• Key OFF.
• Depress the pre-heat switch button.
• Is the voltage greater than 0 volts?
S8 CHECK CIRCUIT Y(BK) FOR POWER
• Key OFF.
• Disconnect the Interface Adapter Assembly C1945 and measure the
voltage between Y(BK) and ground.
• Is the voltage greater than 0 volts?

TEST STEP ACTION TO TAKE
GO to S2.
Yes =
No = CORRECT the conditions.
GO to S3.
Yes =
No = REPAIR pre-heat switch
and/or circuit(s).
GO to S4.
Yes =
No = REPAIR the circuit.
Yes = GO to S5.
No = INSTALL a new switch.
Yes = GO to S6.
No = REPAIR the circuit.
Yes = GO to S7.
No = INSTALL a new relay.
GO to S8.
Yes =
No = REPAIR the circuit.
Yes = INSTALL a new Interface
Adapter Assembly (IAA).
No = REPAIR the circuit.
