Step 6 Run:
c-bsr holdtime interval
The holdtime of a Bootstrap message from the BSR is set.
The BSR periodically sends a Bootstrap message to the network. After receiving the Bootstrap
message, the C-BSR keeps the message for a certain period. During the period, the BSR election
stops temporarily. If the holdtime expires, a new round of BSR election is triggered among C-
BSRs.
----End

4.8.4 Configuring the BSR Service Boundary

Context
S9300s outside the BSR service boundary cannot take part in the multicast forwarding in the
PIM-SM domain. Do as follows on the S9300s.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view is displayed.
On the S9300, VLANIF interfaces and loopback interfaces support PIM.
Step 3 Run:
pim bsr-boundary
The BSR service boundary is set. BSR messages cannot pass through the BSR boundary.
By default, all the S9300s that run PIM-SM on the network can receive BSR messages.
----End

4.8.5 Configuring the Range of Valid BSR Addresses

Prerequisite
The ACL for filtering the source addresses of BSR messages is created.
For the configuration of the ACL, see
Routing Switch Configuration Guide - Security.
Issue 01 (2009-07-28)
NOTE
The holdtime of a Bootstrap message from the BSR must be greater than the interval for sending Bootstrap
messages. Otherwise, the BSR election is instable.
