If users want to receive information from the specified source, or from all sources except the
specified source, they must send IGMPv3 report to subscribe to (S, G) channel. After receiving
the message, the querier checks whether the group address G in the message is in the range of
SSM group addresses.

4.15.2 Enabling IP Multicast

Context
Enabling IP multicast is the prerequisite of configuring other IP multicast protocols. Do as
follows on the S9300.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
multicast routing-enable
IP multicast routing is enabled.

4.15.3 Enabling PIM-SSM

Issue 01 (2009-07-28)
If G is in the range of SSM group addresses, the querier sends Join messages to multicast
source S hop by hop, establishing an SPT and forming SSM model.
If the address of S is not explicitly specified on the user side, or the group address G is out
of the range of SSM group addresses, the ASM model is adopted on the PIM-SM.
Configuring the unicast routing protocol to ensure that IP routes between nodes are
reachable
NOTE
The SSM model uses IGMPv3. Ensure that the IGMPv3 is enabled on the S9300s with receivers.
