3 PIM-DM Configuration
Applicable Environment
On a PIM-DM network, the periodic flooding-pruning wastes lots of network resources. The
pruned interface is restored to forward messages when the prune timer times out. To solve this
problem, you can enable State-Refresh for the S9300 to send State-Refresh messages
periodically, refresh the prune state of the interfaces, and maintain the shortest path tree (SPT).
S9300s configured with default values can work normally. You can change the values of relevant
parameters according to the specific network environment. If there is no special requirement,
default values are recommended.
