6.8.3 Clearing Routing Entries and Multicast Forwarding Entities

Context
After you run the reset command to clear information in the multicast forwarding table or in the
multicast routing table, multicast data cannot be normally transmitted. Therefore, confirm the
action before you run the command.

6.8.4 Monitoring the Multicast Routing and Forwarding

Context
During the routine maintenance, run the following commands in any view to understand the
running status of the multicast forwarding and routing table.
Issue 01 (2009-07-28)
NOTE
When checking the RPF path or multicast path from a multicast source to a destination host, run the
mtrace query-policy [ acl-number ] command on the S9300 connected to hosts to configure the
filtering policy for a querier. The ACL defines the range of IP addresses of reliable queriers, which
helps the last-hop S9300 reject IGMP-Tracert-Query messages that are sent by illegal testers. Note
the following when using this command:
This command is applicable only to the last-hop S9300 and only when the device of the querier
l
is not the last-hop S9300.
This command filters only the IGMP-Tracert-Query messages that are encapsulated with the
l
unicast IP headers.
This command is not applicable for a tracing initiated from the local querier.

Run the reset multicast forwarding-table { group-address [ mask { group-mask | group-
mask-length } ] | source-address [ mask { source-mask | source-mask-length } ] | all |
incoming-interface { interface-type interface-number | register } }
the forwarding entities in the multicast forwarding table.
Run the reset multicast routing-table { group-address [ mask { group-mask | group-
mask-length } ] | source-address [ mask { source-mask | source-mask-length } ] | all |
incoming-interface { interface-type interface-number | register } }
the routing entities in the multicast routing table.
