5.4.6 (Optional) Configuring the MSDP Mesh Group

Context
An AS may contain multiple MSDP peers. The MSDP mesh group can be used to optimize data
traffic. Therefore, SA messages do not flood between MSDP peers.
You can set up an MSDP mesh group by configuring the same name for multiple MSDP peers.
By default, MSDP peers do not belong to any mesh group.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
msdp
The MSDP view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
peer peer-address mesh-group name
The remote MDSP peer is added to the mesh group, that is, the S9300 considers the remote
MSDP peer as a member of the mesh group.

5.4.7 Checking the Configuration

Prerequisite
The configuration of basic MSDP functions is complete.
5-8
The peer-address parameter specifies the address of the remote MSDP peer.
The name parameter specifies the name of the mesh group. The members of the same mesh
group use the same mesh group name.
NOTE
The MSDP peer relation must be set up between all members of the same mesh group.
l
Any member in a mesh group must recognize other members as the member of the same mesh group.
l
One MSDP peer belongs to only one mesh group. If you run the command several times to add the
l
same MSDP peer to different mesh groups, the last configuration takes effect.
