4 PIM-SM Configuration
Step 2 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view is displayed.
On the S9300, VLANIF interfaces and loopback interfaces support PIM.
Step 3 Run:
pim sm
PIM-SM is enabled.
After PIM-SM is enabled on interfaces, S9300s set up the PIM neighbor relation with each other.
The S9300s then can process protocol packets received from PIM neighbors.
You can run the undo pim sm command to disable PIM-SM on an interface.

4.4.4 (Optional) Configuring a Static RP

Context
Configuring a static RP and a BSR-RP on the PIM-SM network simultaneously may cause a
network fault. So, confirm the action before you perform this configuration.If you want to use
the dynamic RP on the PIM-SM network, skip this configuration task.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
pim
The PIM view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
static-rp rp-address [ basic-acl-number ] [ preferred ]
A static RP is specified.

CAUTION
rp-address: specifies the static RP address.
basic-acl-number: specifies the number of the basic ACL. This basic ACL defines the range
of groups served by static RPs. When the scopes of multicast groups that multiple static RPs
serve overlap, the static RP with the largest IP address is selected to serve the multicast
groups.
preferred: indicates that the static RP takes precedence.If a C-RP is configured on the
network, an S9300 prefers the static RP after preferred is set. Otherwise, C-RP is preferred.
