5 MSDP Configuration
Context
The S9300 can use the unicast routing protocol on the current network to advertise the new IP
address of the RP interface. Make sure that each S9300 on the network has a route to the RP
address.
Do as follows on the S9300s that need to establish the anycast RP in the PIM-SM domain.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface loopback interface-number
The loopback interface view is displayed.
The RP is configured on the loopback interface because multiple RPs on the network use the
same IP address.
Step 3 Run:
ip address ip-address 32
The IP address of the loopback interface is configured.

Step 4 Run:
pim sm
PIM-SM is enabled on the RP interface.

5.6.3 Configuring a C-RP

Context
Do as follows on the S9300s that need to establish the anycast RP in the PIM-SM domain.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view

ip-address: specifies the address of the RP. The same IP address is used when you configure
RP interfaces on multiple S9300s.
32: specifies the mask of the address of the loopback interface.
NOTE
When the static RP is used in a PIM-SM network, skip this configuration.

When BSR-RP is used in the PIM-SM network, you must perform this configuration. Before
l
performing this configuration, you need to configure the BSR and BSR boundary. In addition, you
need to make sure that the address of the BSR is different from the address of the C-RP.
