Section 16: Calibration
Introduction
Use the procedures in this section to calibrate the Keithley Instruments Series 2600 System
SourceMeter
test equipment to measure precise DC voltages and currents.
WARNING
Environmental conditions
Temperature and relative humidity
Conduct the calibration procedures at an ambient temperature of 18 C to 28 C (65 F to 82 F),
with relative humidity of less than 70% (unless otherwise noted).
Warm-up period
Allow the Series 2600 to warm up for at least two hours before performing calibration.
If the instrument has been subjected to temperature extremes (those outside the ranges stated
above), allow additional time for the instrument's internal temperature to stabilize. Typically, allow
one extra hour to stabilize a unit that is 10 C (18 F) outside the specified temperature range.
Also, allow the test equipment to warm up for the minimum time specified by the manufacturer.
Line power
The Series 2600 requires a line voltage of 100V to 240V at line frequency of 50Hz or 60Hz. The
instrument must be calibrated within this range.
Calibration considerations
When performing the calibration procedures:
• Make sure that the test equipment is properly warmed up and connected to the correct
Model 2600 terminals.
• Always allow the source signal to settle before calibrating each point.
• Do not connect test equipment to the Series 2600 through a scanner or other switching
equipment.
• If an error occurs during calibration, the Series 2600 will generate an appropriate error
message. See
