Front panel summary

The front panel of Model 6487 is shown in
Figure 1-1
Front panel

POWER
Relative — Null offsets or establish baseline values
Buffer — Store up to 3000 points of data in the internal buffer
Limits — Set up to two stages of high and low reading limits to test devices (see
Section 8 of the Reference Manual).
Digital I/O port — Four output lines and one input line to control external cir-
cuitry as an interface between limit tests and component handler. (See Section 8 of
the Reference Manual.)
Remote interface — Model 6487 can be controlled using the IEEE-488 interface
(GPIB) or the RS-232 interface
Voltage source — Internal ±500V voltage source is also used for ohms function
(Section
3).
GPIB programming language — When using the GPIB, the instrument can be
programmed using the SCPI or DDC programming language.
