Application
The following figure describes the process for driving a motor in a mode other than the cyclic synchronous mode.
The motor starts operating
in the mode other than the
cyclic synchronous mode.
Connect the Motion module and
MR-J5(W)-G with a LAN cable.
Power ON the Motion
module and MR-J5(W)-G.
Switch the mode to the one for
using MR-J5(W)-G. (When switching
to the profile mode, perform it while
the servo is OFF.)
Is the mode switch completed?

Precautions
• Do not execute servo-on before switching to the profile mode. An improper operation, such as sudden acceleration of the
motors, may occur.
• Do not switch the mode to the cyclic synchronous mode after switching to the profile mode. An improper operation, such as
sudden acceleration of the motors, may occur.
• When using in a mode other than the cyclic synchronous mode, the Motion module does not perform operations such as
limit check of a command or issuance of a forced stop command. Take safety measures at the user's program or MR-
J5(W)-G side.
• When the parameter automatic setting is enabled in the network configuration settings on GX Works3, if the parameters are
changed for multiple stations simultaneously in the communication of MR Configurator 2, the changed parameters may not
be applied on the CPU module depending on the communication load status. Change one station at a time. Or, start MR
Configurator2 via GX Works3, change parameters, and write the project to the CPU module.
• Do not set the axes that are used in the profile mode. If set, an error occurs.

Change the link device to which Modes of operation
is assigned from the program or watch and change
the mode to the one for using MR-J5(W)-G. For details
of the setting value, refer to the manual of MR-J5(W)-G.
(Example: When changing to the pp mode, set the link
device that is corresponding to Modes of operation to "1".)
