No Data Is Output from the Sensor Controller
Problem
GATE signal is not output.
There is absolutely no data out-
put.
A Timeout Error Occurred
Problem
A handshaking timeout error
occurred.
A tag data link timeout error
occurred.
Slow Operation
Problem
Response and data output is
slow.
Settings are not kept
Problem
Settings, such as Fieldbus Data
Output Calculations, or Com-
ments, are not being kept.

Communicating with EtherNet/IP
Cause
The RPI (packet interval) and the Sensor
Controller's output period are not set cor-
rectly.
The EDS file version does not match the
firmware version.
Incorrect Communication is set.
Cause
The timing of turning the DSA signal ON
and OFF is too slow.
One of the following problems may exist.
• The DSA signal does not turn ON after
a measurement is completed.
• The DSA signal does not turn OFF after
the GATE signal turns ON.
• The DSA signal does not turn ON after
the GATE signal turns OFF.
Communication between an external
device and the Sensor Controller has
been temporarily interrupted.
The Sensor Controller prioritizes
measurement processing and control
processing over communication
processing. Therefore, when the Sensor
Controller's internal processing load
becomes large and sensor
communication processing is delayed,
communication between an external
device and the Sensor Controller may be
temporarily interrupted, and a
communication error may occur.
Cause
You are performing communications with
incompatible protocols (e.g., PLC Link
and EtherNet/IP).
Cause
Changed the Communication settings
after setting of Fieldbus Data Output.
Action
The RPI (packet interval) time must be set
so that it is shorter than the output period.
Make sure that the EDS file version
matches the firmware version.
Verify that Communication is set to Ether-
CAT.
Action
After the measurement command is exe-
cuted, turn the DSA signal ON and OFF
*1
within the timeout time
that is set in the
Ethernet/IP communications settings.
Or, increase the length of the timeout time
that is set in the EtherNet/IP settings.
Set the communication error timeout time
longer than the Sensor Controller's
processing time, or lengthen the
measurement interval. Set the
communication error timeout time in the tag
data link connection settings (*1) as follows:
Packet interval (RPI value) × Timeout value
> Measurement time on Sensor Controller
Action
Do not use incompatible protocols for com-
munications.
Action
Specify the Fieldbus Data Output settings
after settings of Communication.
